A Touch of Blue

Paula Robison has selected and arranged highlights of Blues, Ragtime, Spirituals, and all three Gershwin preludes in this remarkable collection for flute and piano. George Gershwin described his own music as: “a sort of musical kaleidoscope of America, of our vast melting pot, of our unduplicated national pep, of our blues, our metropolitan madness.” A TOUCH OF BLUE celebrates this lively image.

Sparklers for piccolo and piano

“Sparklers” offers an elegant dessert tray of fin de siècle treats from the Golden Age of Piccolo showpieces and two transcriptions from Kreisler’s best-loved violin gems. Notes on the repertoire and performance suggestions for each of the pieces are included. Piccoloists many now enjoy one book that includes Fritz Kreisler’s Tambourin Chinois and Schön Rosmarin, Eugène Damaré’s charming La Tourterelle, Ernesto Köhler’s Danse des Pierrots, and Terzen-Polka (for two piccolos) by Franz Behr.
